The Māori Plan

The Māori Plan for Tāmaki Makaurau is a record of what Māori in the region said was important to them. The Māori Plan provides a framework for understanding Māori development aspirations and sets measures for monitoring progress towards desired cultural, economic, environmental and social outcomes for Māori.

In 2017, the Board reviewed and updated the Maori Plan to ensure that it continues to provide strong direction and leadership to Auckland Council.

The Board combined the Maori Plan with The Schedule of Issues of Significance to Māori in Tāmaki Makaurau to clearly outline the link between the key issues to Māori that Auckland Council has a responsibility to address and the relevant actions council should take.
